One of John’s favorite long-time acoustic guitars is his trusty black 1980 Alvarez model 5013.

Established in 1965 by St. Louis Music, Alvarez is played by many incredible musicians such as Joe Bonamassa, Bono, Johnny Cash, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Ani DiFranco, Jerry Garcia, Paul McCartney, Monte Montgomery, Carlos Santana, Bob Weir, Thom Yorke and so many more.

John loves the tone and feel of the Alvarez 5013, purchased in 1987 from a pawn shop in Oklahoma City, and has used it to write and play over 100 of the original songs in his personal catalog.
