New Release – BEST DAYS by John William Thompson

Must’ve been about five years old
Daddy hit that old turnrow
I came out of the back with my old dog Mack
Straight out of that truck
He picked me up, said ‘Son, I’m here. Don’t cry.’
And it was one of the best days of my life.
Leaned back on the hood of that midnight blue El Camino
We did our best lettin’ each other know our true hearts,
Countin’ stars and how we’d hope in each other arms
Some day we’d die.
And it was one of the best days of my life.
Lookin’ back from where I am
Memories of where I’ve been
Sometimes are all that gets me through the day
All that I’ve done right and wrong
Written down in a song
Everybody like nobody wanted to pay.
So I’ll head out in the morning
Tonight if I don’t die
Cause Tomorrow just might be one of the best days of my life.
The morning I held my baby girl
Her big brown eyes were my whole world
Staring back at me for everything
and for all of you that think I’m a loser
I’m gonna get that right
Cause it was one of the best days of my life.
Lookin’ back from where I am
Memories of where I’ve been
Sometime are all that gets me through the day
All that I’ve done right and wrong
Written down in a country song
Everybody like nobody wanted to pay.
So I’ll ease out in the morning
Tonight if I don’t die.
Cause Tomorrow just might be one of the best days of my life.
Tomorrow just might be one of the best days of my life.
